Hoffman has been training Forty Something for the past four years. “He scored a 60.4% and a 62.6%...not bad for his first time, and he was against some very nice Warmbloods!” said Chrissa. “Another Saddlebred makes the FEI ring...yay!”
Chrissa also rode and trained FEI champion saddlebred gelding Harry Callahan. KPP wishes Chrissa and Forty continued success in the FEI show ring. |
IMTIAZ ANEES

|
Congratulations to Imtiaz Anees. Sponsored rider Imtiaz Anees had a strong fourth place finish at the Poplar Place Farm CCI** International Three-Day Event on Nov. 13, 2009.
What a great way to finish the year! |
| Top riders depend on Kentucky Performance Products |
|
Seasoned three-day event rider John Williams depends on Kentucky Performance Products to supply him with the finest equine nutritional supplements available. Williams and his Thoroughbred-cross gelding Carrick have been partnered for more than eight years. In that time, the pair has earned a gold medal at the 2002 World Equestrian Games, a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympic Games, and two top-ten placings at the prestigious Rolex Kentucky CCI**** in the past three years. In 2007, John paired with his own Sweepea Dean to collect a reserve championship in the intermediate division of the Wellpride American Eventing Championships.
Williams’ horses require different supplements based on individual needs. He routinely uses Neigh-Lox, Myo-Guard, Metaboleeze, Summer Games, and Ker-A-Form.
"We depend on high-quality feeds and supplements for our horses’ performances. We have great confidence in the high standards set by Kentucky Performance Products in the research and development of products geared specifically to our event horses." |
 |
Imtiaz Anees has made a lifelong commitment to horses. He began competing for his home country of India nearly two decades ago and since then has traveled to three-day event competitions in several countries, often earning top ribbons. The culmination of his competitive career to date has been his participation in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. He is the only person ever to represent India in Olympic three-day event competition. Two years later, he again competed against the world's best riders at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain. In addition to these international competitions, he has placed several times at the U.S. National Championships. Imtiaz is currently based in Moreland, Georgia, where he trains horses and riders at his privately owned Springtown Stables. His future competition goals include a trip to the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. Aside from his training and riding duties at home, Imtiaz travels extensively to teach clinics. |

Chrissa Hoffmann and Ferrelli win the Grand Prix at the Gold Coast Opener, January 22-25th, 2009, with a score of 65.5%! |
Chrissa Hoffmann is a United States Dressage Federation (USDF) gold medalist. As an international rider, Hoffmann knows the importance of high-quality nutrition and nutritional supplements. With many horses in training, she has a need for several products offered by KPP: Neigh-Lox, Equi-Jewel, EndurExtra, Metaboleeze, Summer Games, and Ker-A-Form.
"My Grand Prix horse needs all of the help he can get, and by using Equi-Jewel and Neigh-Lox, he has kept sufficient weight, gained muscle, and is using himself to the best of his ability. I was worried about him six months ago because he didn't want to eat and he was easily fatigued, but now he is bright, happy, and can't wait to perform."
"As for Ker-A-Form, my farrier noted that my five-year-old's feet had changed dramatically. He used to always lose shoes, but since we started him on the Ker-A-Form, he has grown a ton of hoof and hasn't lost a shoe."
"I trust Summer Games over other electrolytes because of the research that led to its development for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. All of my competition horses are on Summer Games, and because of this product I have no concerns of dehydration or loss of potassium." |
Jenni aboard Maloubet du Rouet.
Jenni Martin McAllister’s enthusiasm for riding began at a very young age. Through her formative years she was involved in dressage, three-day eventing, and excelled in the hunter/jumper and jumper show circuits. As a junior rider, she continually placed in top ribbons.
At the Grand Prix level, Jenni has continued her success both nationally and internationally. Her multiple national achievements include winning the $100,000 Grand Prix of Del Mar, Farmington Grand Prix (twice), Rio Vista Grand Prix, Sandia Classic Grand Prix (twice) and Saratoga Cup, just to name a few on her long list of wins. Internationally, she placed 2nd in the Silver League Brussels Grand Prix (Belgium), 2nd in the World Cup qualifier Poznan (Poland) and placed in two classes at CSI Caen (France). She also excelled in several classes in other regions of Europe.
Currently, Jenni and her husband, Steve McAllister, run Martin McAllister Training, a California-based facility that specializes in the sales, training and showing of jumpers of all levels, both nationally and internationally.
McAllister uses Kentucky Performance Products supplements to complement the feeding program at Martin McAllister Training. With the supplements, McAllister is able to address specific challenges and fine-tune the feeding program for each of her performance athletes. McAllister incorporates Neigh-Lox, Summer Games Electrolyte, EndurExtra, Elevate and other KPP products to provide her horses with additional support when they need it most.
“We use a variety of KPP supplements because they meet our high standards and the individual needs of our horses,” said Jenni. “We've seen great results with the horses in our program.” |

|
Kate Gerhart began competing on the hunter/jumper circuit in 2003 after an accomplished career showing Appaloosas in Western disciplines. Currently based out of North Ridge Farms in Sellersville, Pa., Gerhart now specializes in bringing along young jumping horses.
In 2009, Kate began showing at the Grand Prix level with her mounts Timo, Utmost ISF and Uriah ISF. As a Grand Prix rider, she has earned numerous placings at HITS Culpeper, HITS Saugerties, Garden State, Swan Lake and Monmouth. She finished off 2010 by qualifying for the Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix at HITS-on-the-Hudson held September 12. Every horse that Gerhart has brought up through the young jumper ranks has advanced into Grand Prix competition and she has high hopes that her current young horses will do the same.
Kate has a solid background in competing with high-level performance horses. As a competitor, she recognizes when her horses need the aid of high-quality nutritional supplements. Kate Gerhart includes Neigh-Lox, Ker-A-Form, Joint Armor, Myo-Guard, Elevate Se, Summer Games Electrolyte, Summer Games Plus and Contribute in the feeding programs of her horses.
“We use KPP products on everything in the barn, from our broodmares to FEI horses,” said Kate. “The supplements have allowed us to give our horses additional support when they need it most, whether that’s during foaling season or leading up to a competition.
Kate has specific reasons for using other KPP supplements, too. “We keep all of our training horses on Neigh-Lox because of the positive response we have seen in their behavior and health," she said. "Joint Armor is the first supplement we’ve used that has actually helped us maintain joint health without additional treatment and the horses love to eat it!” |

Phillip Dutton was named the U.S. Eventing Association’s Rider of the Year for the ninth time in 2007. That year, he walked away with the highest U.S. placing at Rolex Kentucky CCI, the team gold and individual silver medals at the Pan American Games, and the U.S. Equestrian Federation CCI*** championship at Fair Hill, each time riding a different horse. In 2007, he had 117 placings on 31 different horses—22 at advanced, 30 at intermediate, 35 at preliminary, 26 at training, and four at novice. Phillip is a two-time Olympic gold medalist.
With an extensive stable of horses, Dutton uses several products marketed by Kentucky Performance Products, including Metaboleeze, Neigh-Lox, Micro-Phase, Ker-A-Form, Myo-Guard, and Summer Games Electrolyte.
"Kentucky Performance Products is the leader in its field. The company’s research, product quality, and service are second to none."

Multiple Olympic medals shimmer in the trophy cases of two of the nation’s most premier three-day-event riders. For David and Karen O’ Connor, however, those riches are testament not only to their phenomenal riding skills but also their vigilance in caring for every aspect of their horses’ management. No detail is too minute.
A large factor in maintaining a stable brimming with world-class talent is superior nutrition including the use of scientifically proven supplements. The team turns to Kentucky Performance Products for top-notch supplements year-round, whether they’re hacking in the Virginia countryside or competing in a world championship competition.
Last year proved to be abanner year for Karen O’Connor. She earned her tenth U.S. Eventing Association Lady Rider of the Year title. Riding Theodore O’Connor, she won both the team and individual gold medals at the Pan American Games, claimed victory at The Fork CCI***, and placed third at Rolex Kentucky CCI****. Based in part on these accomplishment, Thoedore O’Connor was named the U.S. Equestrian Federation Horse of the Year and Pony of the Year, and The Chronicle of the Horse’s Horse of the Year.
The diets of three-day event horses are exactingly formulated, so no two horses in the O’Connor’s care are fed identically. KPP supplements used by the O’Connors include Neigh-Lox, Micro-Phase, Ker-A-Form, Myo-Guard, Equi-Jewel, and Summer Games Electrolyte. |

Congratulations to Mary and Shiloh for winning the 50-mile Biltmore Challenge CEI ***/** on May 5th. Shiloh also won the 50-mile Best Conditioned award. |
Mary Howell of New Kent, Virginia is an accomplished endurance rider and member of the USA East Endurance Team in 2001 and 2003. She has partnered with her half-Arabian AM Baskin Count Shiloh over the last eight years. Together they've completed over 3,500 endurance miles, including numerous Top 10 finishes, 10 wins and more than a dozen one-day 100-mile rides. The pair has won eight endurance rides and has finished in the top ten on 28 occasions.
On May 5, 2007, Mary and Shiloh placed first out of a field of 106 horses at the Biltmore 50, with a ride time of 4:32. Shiloh also received the coveted "Best Condition" award that combines ride time, rider weight and the horse's soundness and metabolics after the ride.
“I rely on Myo-Guard and Ker-A-Form to help my horses handle the stress of a busy endurance schedule. I’ve used Myo-Guard throughout Shiloh's career as a supplement between rides and during each hold to help combat muscle fatigue and minimize soreness. Myo-Guard is superior to generic vitamin E/selenium products and comes in a compact, palatable form.
I also rely on Ker-A-Form as a daily supplement to improve hoof growth and elasticity. Endurance riding subjects the hoof wall to continual pounding on all types of surfaces, and this product helps me feel I am doing everything I can to give my horses strong hooves. The shoes seem to stay on better too, which is a good thing since Shiloh will be tackling three 50-milers in just a four-week period!
I highly recommend KPP products to those that want to give their horses every advantage in this demanding sport.” |

Autumn Whitt knows well that electrolyte supplementation is vital to a winning endurance ride. That’s why she turns to Endura-Max and Endura-Max Plus offered by Kentucky Performance Products when preparing for and competing in a ride. Neither electrolyte product has let her down. Since switching to Endura-Max and Endura-Max Plus, Whitt reports she has noticed no visible muscle fatigue whatsoever among her horses and has had great hydration scores.
In 2005, she placed fourth in the featherweight division and eleventh overall at the American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC) Championships. In the past few years, she has earned two Arabian Horse Association (AHA) Regional Championships.
"Endura-Max and Endura-Max Plus are the only products on the market that I have found to be properly formulated to meet the demanding needs of the endurance horse. Correct electrolyte formulation is paramount and essential in the endurance horse and Endura-Max has got it right! I am now using the buffered Endura-Max Plus during training and have had even better results." |

Stress is caused by a myriad of conditions, some expected, some not so expected. For Denise Clayton, she realized that Neigh-Lox is perfect for easing the disruption in schedules caused by an unlikely source: natural disasters, particularly hurricanes. Clayton initially used Neigh-Lox for follow-up treatment for ulcers in one of her horses. Since then she has discovered that it is an excellent product for a wide variety of stressful situations in many different horses—Quarter Horses, Paints, and Thoroughbreds.
"Neigh-Lox has prevented many vet calls by its use prior to shows, relocation anxiety, and even the havoc caused by hurricanes! I rely on Neigh-Lox in my feeding program!" |
 |
"I recently purchased a three-year-old Thoroughbred gelding for racing. When I bought him, he did not eat well and did not recover well after works and racing. I began using Neigh-Lox and Myo-Guard and what a huge difference it made! He went from running in $7500 races to breaking his maiden at the $30,000 level. He is now running every two to three weeks and recovers quickly afterwards. He never misses a meal and is always ready to go to work!"

Here is a picture of
Skyler and Freckles out
for the first meet of the
season with Southcreek Foxhounds, Dade City, FL. |
Skyler Phethean, owner and jockey for “Freckles” Phethean, would like to thank KPP for its excellent product Neigh-Lox. Last year Skyler's riding was severely limited because her pony didn’t feel good and had lots of tummy aches. Skyler described it this way: "Her no feel good, tummy hurts.” After the vet told Skyler's mother that ponies don’t get ulcers, Aunt Eileen sent Freckles some Neigh-Lox to try. Freckles liked her Neigh-Lox a lot, and after that her tummy didn’t hurt and she ate all her dinner.
Freckles used to have bony withers and a sharp backbone, but now Freckles' back is like a couch, nice and soft and flat. Freckles has a big belly now, too. Freckles is so fat that Skyler's mother says she needs to eat Micro-Phase because she eats too little grain to get all her vitamins and minerals. So now Aunt Eileen is sending her some Micro-Phase. |

Before 9/6/06

After 12/11/06 |
Before: “This is not an abandoned horse we rescued. At this time, Secret was eating four quarts of Purina Ultium three times a day and as much good-quality alfalfa mix hay she wanted. In addition to her feed, she recevied regular deworming as well as vet and dental care. She remained skinny. I had tried everything but nothing worked.”
After: “In less than two months on EndurExtra, Secret
looks amazing! Her chest, ribs, and topline have filled out and she has a nice round rump. She is still sweet, smart and willing, and not hot at all. I am now feeding her less than three quarts of Ultium three times a day and she is still gaining weight. Everybody that knows her wants to know how I finally got weight on her”

“Being a gray Thoroughbred gelding, Emmett’s coat changes color just about each season. He also has a thin hoof wall. Adding Ker-A-Form to his daily grain has helped brighten his coat and has tremendously improved the quality of his hooves. No more hoof cracks and a thicker hoof wall.”
“My experiences with KPP products and services have been impeccable.”

Sponsored rider makes it to Malaysia
Wendy Benns secured a spot on the Canadian Endurance Team aboard her 9-year-old Arabian gelding Supreme Justice — or Jay, as she calls him. The Canadian team finished in seventh place at the 12th FEI World Endurance Championship, held in Malaysia in November 2008.
When it comes to nutrition for Wendy’s horses, she is a friend and loyal supporter of Brooks Feeds and Kentucky Performance Products.
The right feed and supplements keep her horses in top shape for the rigors of high-level endurance racing. One of the supplements Wendy uses is ADR, a probiotic paste manufactured by Kentucky Performance Products. “I have noticed a definite increase in my horses’ appetites during races and extended travel since using ADR paste,” said Wendy. |

At the suggestion of a friend who has used the product, I purchased Neigh-Lox for my 18-year-old hunt mare.
Abby has hunted hard every season since the fall of 1998 and has exhibited the same symptoms for probably 8 of those years. At the beginning of the season, she is her usual relaxed self, in good weight, cleans up her grain, no sign of any problems or vices. Once the season is underway, however, she exhibits a number of changes. She won’t clean up her grain, either the evening before hunting or the morning of. She picks at her hay. She EATS (not chews) the wood fences in her pasture. On the trailer, she won’t touch her hay and will attack the vinyl covering of her breast bar with a vengeance. This mellow, easy-going mare becomes a terror on hunt days (although she is a star to ride—no issues once she gets to the hunt!).
It occurred to me that she probably has an upset stomach due to nerves. A friend recommended Neigh-Lox since it had worked for her horses in the past.
I bought a pail; almost OVERNIGHT Abby showed improvement. Now when she comes into the barn overnight before hunting, she eats her grain (licks the feed tub clean!), cleans up her hay, drinks normally, doesn’t grind her teeth in the stall, and so far has stopped savaging the vinyl covering of her breast bar when she goes on the trailer (thankfully—that’s an expensive habit). She has stopped eating the wood fences in her paddock as well. She’s back to the horse she is during the rest of the year.
Thanks for a great product.

“A few years ago I bought an Arabian mare who was quite a bit down on her weight. While she put on some weight with the usual grain and weight-building products, she would not finish out and still looked poor. And she just couldn’t eat any more food! I decided after a couple months of research to have two bags of Equi-Jewel shipped from Kentucky. What a difference that made! Within a month of replacing half of her 7 lbs of grain with about 1 lb of Equi-Jewel, she had put on a lot more weight, looked nice, and was ready to ride down the trail! Thanks to Equi-Jewel!”

Carrie Kieczkajlo owns Phoenix and Jake, two Thoroughbreds that have transitioned from the racetrack to a second career as hard-working field hunters. Though both horses needed to gain weight for optimal health, they were picky eaters and sometimes did not finish their grain meals. In addition to his persnickety appetite, Phoenix cribbed badly and was diagnosed with gastric ulcers.
In an effort to overcome these problems, Carrie added Neigh-Lox to each of her horses' diets. Improvement occurred almost immediately. Both began to consume their meals more readily and Phoenix, the ardent cribber, is much less interested in cribbing. In fact, he's almost stopped the behavior entirely. As a result, both horses began to gain weight.
"Now, both are in excellent health, have great appetites, and look fabulous," said Kieczkajlo |
